Members of the community are invited to have their say on plans for the new primary school in Trumpington on Thursday 22nd and Monday 26th September.
Cambridge Primary Education Trust (CPET) will be the sponsor of the new primary school which is due to open in September 2017. The Trust already runs three local primary schools including Histon & Impington Junior School, Histon & Impington Infant School and Hatton Park Primary School.
The school will initially provide entry for two reception classes and the intention is for this to grow into three-form entry. There will also be pre-school provision at the new school.
The state-of-the-art school building will be the key primary education provision for the new Great Kneighton housing development situated on the Clay Farm site between the community of Trumpington and Addenbrookes hospital.
CPET is working in partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council and Parkside Federation Academies (PFA). The school will be built by Kier Construction.
The open meetings take place at Trumpington Community College from 4pm to 6.30pm.
Lesley Birch, Executive Principal of CPET, said: “The views of the community mean a lot to CPET as they are important in shaping the future of the new primary school. The new primary school will be a vital part of the local area for many years to come and it is crucial that it reflects and fits in with the community’s values.”
“We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone and listening to their views on the new Trumpington Primary School and look forward to talking to more members of the local community in the coming weeks.”
